Last Thursday, we took a quick roundtrip day trip to Carmel, IN to see one of my husband’s favorite authors: Jack Carr, who was so impressive and seemed like such a nice guy! Our first stop was lunch at Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream: I had one scoop of blueberry waffle cone and one scoop of churro chata. My husband got the blueberry waffle cone, but opted for the milkshake version; we both got elk burgers and sweet potato waffle fries, which were delicious! We stopped at Meadowlark Park and met a praying mantis along the trail. Our last stop before the author talk was Carmel Old Town Antique Mall where we spotted some unique and cool items, but made no purchases. I was really tempted by the paper mâché swan. Lastly, we visited the Carmel Clay Public Library, where we enjoyed their book sale, picking up a practically new copy of The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. Afterward, we each received signed copies of Jack Carr’s new book, Cry Havoc, which came with the ticket price and heard Carr share and answer questions. We discovered that we are in a video clip that the author posted on social media. Good times!
