We had the pleasure of seeing Denison University’s production of “9 to 5: The Musical” at their Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts (Eisner Center) last Friday night. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, a show cannot avoid being peppy! “9 to 5: The Musical” is based on the book by Patricia Resnick, and based on the 20th Century Fox picture originally produced on Broadway, by Robert Greenblatt in April of 2009. The creative team, production team, and cast all did a splendid job! The cast was having fun and their enthusiasm and humor was contagious.

We were appreciative of the free tickets that needed reservation online. We will remember not to sit in the front row of the balcony the next time we see a show at the Eisner Center, as it is difficult to see the stage, especially stage right due to the barrier wall. Other than that one critique, we were impressed with all of the talent, especially the orchestra! We thoroughly enjoyed the show and it was a nice reminder to “pour myself a cup of ambition”.
