“Christmastime with Gene Autry” is one album that most definitely shines on vinyl. The nostalgic songs and Autry’s country twang are a perfect fit for the vinyl sound; the blend just wouldn’t be given justice of quality any other way. Favorites like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, “Jingle Bells”, and “Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem” are included, but “Silent Night-Joy to the World” stands out to me with Autry’s authenticity and introduction, as well as his additional brief comments in interlude of these two classic Christmas carols. This is a special Christmas album for reasons noted already, but perhaps the most evident reason is because each song is full of heart. Some may see this album as a time of yesteryear, but I see it as timeless.
Love this. Brings back many memories growing up as child. My Dad took me to see Gene Autry in person, when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Enjoyed watching Gene Autry on TV growing up and of course all of Gene’s music, especially, “Here Comes Santa Claus”
