Imagine standing in the center of the stage with an immense stadium of people looking on in anticipation to hear the music you have written while being surrounded by exceptional musicians also on the stage, who use their instruments to play your music by your side. We witnessed Han Zimmer experiencing this magnificent opportune scenario last Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. We were wowed by the “Han Zimmer Live” concert as we were in awe of the talented musicians (including Zimmer); they played a total of thirty-one songs from twelve different film soundtracks.
Visually, we were blown away by the light shows that coincided with the music. We have never observed that many lights used and agreed that it was the best light show we have ever seen. Zimmer made a great effort to recognize and show his appreciation to all of the musicians. His laid-back and positive attitude in speaking and sharing with the audience created a welcome and joyful environment. The following movies were represented by the music played: DUNE, WONDER WOMAN, GLADIATOR, INCEPTION, MAN OF STEEL, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE DARK KNIGHT, THE LAST SAMURAI, DARK PHOENIX, INTERSTELLAR, THE LION KING, and NO TIME TO DIE.
