Games are always welcome gifts in our home and we recently played two mystery games, which were Christmas gifts and really enjoyed both of them. For many years, I have been a Nancy Drew fan and have collected the original book series. So thoughtfully, my husband got me the “Nancy Drew Mysteries Board Game” for Christmas. The object of the game is to try to solve the mysteries of who is the “Suspicious Character”, “Who’s in Trouble”, the “Crime Committed”, which “Mystery to Solve”, and which “Sleuthing Equipment” is used. Similarly, to the very popular “CLUE” game, all of the mysteries are stored in a secret file until a player wants to “solve the case” and guess their solutions. Deductive reasoning, logic, and an appreciation for the artwork, design, and story connections are sure to be enjoyed by all (“ages 8 and up”), even players who may not be as familiar with the classic series.
